Visiting the Castle

The conservation of Westenhanger Castle is reliant on your donations and support to continue this vital work to one of the country's most historically important sites. As such, all proceeds from events are reinvested in materials and conservation work.

Annually, the castle is opened over a weekend to give the public an opportunity to see the extensive work that has taken place during the year. The Medieval Siege Society also set-up camp at the castle, giving battle re-enactments and offering an insight into medieval life.

For the first time, the castle will be open on Tuesdays from 5 June to 18 September. The castle owners and historians will be available throughout the day to give you an insight into the castle, its history and the conservation work that has taken, and is taking, place.

Westenhanger Castle is also licensed for civil weddings, partnerships and blessings. The unique site is perfect for corporate product launches, meetings, conferences and balls.

Please note, the castle is not open for 'ad-hoc' visits.
