Our beautiful historic venue offers you the choice of four magnificent settings for your ceremony. Each has something unique and special. Together we can create a ceremony that reflects your personality; it’s your day your way.
Outdoors in the manicured grounds for that perfect summer event we have an oak framed thatched gazebo that echoes the design of the manor house. Follow in the footsteps of history as you step across the red/white carpet and into the gazebo that overlooks the sunken garden. Exchange your vows with nature as your backdrop. After the ceremony sip bucks fizz and pimms while you and your guests enjoy the Kentish countryside. Inclement weather is not a problem either we can accommodate your party within the marquee or manor house if the need arises.
If you would prefer an indoor ceremony we have three areas within the castle that can make the perfect setting for your wedding.
The Henry VIII Room on the ground floor offers an intimate regal setting while still giving you a space that oozes history and splendour. 38 guests can be seated to watch you exchange the vows that will shape your future. Here the magnificent Macbeth fireplace offers a stately, welcoming focal point. Double aspect leaded windows, wooden floor, and beamed ceiling create a unique romantic atmosphere that will add to your day.
Also on the ground floor is the spectacular Queen Elizabeth I room. Seating 73 guests this is atmospheric and sensational space, which is also attached to Henry VIII Kitchen that can accommodate an extra 50 people. Original features abound all beautifully restored ready to create the backdrop for your dream day. A dramatic candle lit winter wedding with a huge roaring fire with baroque overtones would add a touch of theatre and magic to your event. The Dovecote bar area is perfect for post ceremony drinks while the Henry VIII kitchen doubles as a dining area and dance floor with striking double height beamed ceilings that will add gravitas to any occasion. Here you can enjoy your ceremony on gold and red King and Queen Chairs for that extra regal touch. A wedding here will give you and your guest’s memories to last a lifetime.
The upper floor offers the Queen Elizabeth I venue that can accommodate 82 guests.
